Dr. Almir Manoel Cunico (LEPI Coordinator)
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Maringá (2002), followed by a Master's degree (2005) and a Ph.D. in Ecology of Continental Aquatic Environments from the same institution (2010). Completed a doctoral sandwich program at the School of Natural Resources and Environment, University of Michigan, USA. Currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraná and is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Ecology, Fisheries, and Ichthyology (LEPI). His research focuses on anthropogenic impacts on aquatic ecosystems, the influence of aquaculture and urbanization on fish communities, and biological invasions.

Dr. Alexandre Leandro Pereira
He holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the State University of Maringá (2002), a Master's degree in Ecology of Continental Aquatic Environments from the State University of Maringá (2005), and a Ph.D. in Applied Ecology from the University of São Paulo (USP/CENA/ESALQ). He is currently a professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), where he conducts research on food webs in aquatic environments. His expertise lies in Ecology, with a focus on Energy Ecology, and he works primarily on topics such as stable isotopes, floodplains, calorimetry, and reservoirs.

Dra. Mariele Pasuch de Camargo Cremonez
She graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), earned a Master’s degree in Zoology from UFPR, and completed a Ph.D. in Ecology and Limnology through the Postgraduate Program in Ecology of Continental Aquatic Environments at the State University of Maringá. She is currently an Adjunct Professor at UFPR - Palotina Campus, where she conducts research on the effects of introducing and establishing non-native species on the taxonomic and functional attributes of fish fauna. In her teaching role, she covers subjects such as Zoology, Evolution, Paleontology, and Biostatistics.

She graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná (2016) and earned a Master’s degree in Aquaculture and Sustainable Development from the same institution (2020). She is currently a doctoral student in the Postgraduate Program in Fisheries Resources and Fisheries Engineering at the State University of Western Paraná (UNIOESTE), where she is studying the influence of tilapia farming on fish assemblages in a major Brazilian river basin.
